Tony spent many years promoting reflexology Internationally with Dwight Byers of the International Institute of Reflexology, but experience taught him that another dimension was needed to be added to the therapy to make it even more therapeutically effective. Drawing on his many years in practice, and observations made of other techniques used in other parts of the world, he created a system called ART (Advanced Reflexology Techniques).
These techniques proved so successful that his work came to the attention of a leading London Gynaecologist, who found that Tony’s techniques were helping some of his patients who were not responding to Allopathic treatment.
A pilot study was set up at a London hospital to monitor the results. These proved to be immensely successful. (McMillan/Porter Whipps Cross Hospital).
Harper's Bazaar selected Tony Porter's Advanced Reflexology Techniques as "Best Alternative Therapy" in the Bazaar Beauty Hot 100 supplement (Dec 2010).
Today Tony is in great demand Internationally, both to treat clients and to teach his unique methods.
He works from two London Clinics, one in North London and the other in central London. He also holds clinics in Toulouse, France.

What Inspired Me to Become A Reflexologist....
It was while vacationing in Florida in 1995 that I experienced my first Reflexology treatment. I had been having deep tissue and corrective massage work done for several years and was thoroughly sold on the therapeutic benefits of massage...but I had never heard of Reflexology. Of course, I was eager to try it. Only a few minutes into the treatment I realized this was not like any massage I had experienced. Where were all these sensitive areas in my feet and toes coming from??? I wasn't feeling them when just walking around doing my daily tasks.
Although most of the session was pleasurable, there were moments of varying degrees of discomfort as the practitioner found what she referred to as "congestion" and relayed to me the areas of the body to which those reflexes correlated. As she worked those reflex areas, the discomfort subsided. Immediately following the treatment, and the next day, I felt like I was walking on a cloud...my feet felt great and I had an overall sense of well-being. The night of the treatment I slept sounder than I had in a very long time. A "seed" had been sown in my spirit that day...little did I know that 10 years later I would have my own Reflexology practice!
Over the next six years I delved into a self-study of Reflexology, practicing on family and friends. The more I studied and researched, the more I wanted to learn. In 2001 I realized that Reflexology was not a passing fancy ... it was my heart's desire to leave corporate America after almost thirty years and become a Certified Reflexologist. Due to career and personal demands, however, the timing wasn't right. For another two years I continued to read, practice, and research.
In the spring of 2003 God quicken my spirit, telling me "NOW is the time to get certified in Reflexology." Although I was still working long hours in a demanding sales position in another industry, I took action immediately. That day I registered for a 200 hour program offered through the International Institute of Reflexology without a clue as to how I was going to fit this into my already hectic life. Two years later, in the spring of 2005 I obtained my certification and officially opened my practice in Austin, TX. Since then my business has grown solely (no pun intended) by word of mouth and referrals from satisfied clients.
The journey has been one of hard work and discipline. Education and experience are on-going for a Reflexologist, as every client and their circumstances are different....but I LOVE what I do! I derive a great sense of satisfaction knowing that I am called and gifted to help others in such a special way!
